1913 Diary Seattle, Washington

In a box at an Estate Auction, I discovered a personal diary written by a young man who lived in Seattle on Capitol Hill in 1913, one hundred years ago. The differences (and similarities) between that year and the one we are beginning tomorrow are fascinating. I have decided to share this diary with anyone who wants to read these entries. Page 1 had his important statistics, like Watch # and glove size.

Notes on transcription:

The quotes are as exact as I can show. My entries for possible explanations are in [brackets]. His weather notes are in red. If he used abbreviations or Initials, they are shown as written in the actual diary.
