Swell day.
Sunday School wi G.  Study Mech 41 awhile.  Out for walk to Canal.  Home at 6 had feed.  Out agn  to movies.  fine time all day  Feeling much better.  Home 11 P.M.

Monday, Feb 24
Fine     Sun
School.  Out at 12.  Down town at Noon.  Met. L.B. & G.  Down to library and bank.  Home 1:30 P.M. Had sleep.  Study eve till 10 P.M.  Turn in 10:30.  Lieben called up.

Tuesday, Feb 25
Fair
School.  Home 3:30P.M.  Worked on Exp. Notes.  G. over eve. helping me out. 
B.H.H.   Quit 10P.M.  Nothing else.  Turn in 10:30P.M.

Fair
School -  Home 5:30 P.M.  Study eve.  Perry called up.  Dell up few min.

Thursday, Feb 27
Fair
School, Mechanics Exam.  Home 6 P.M.  Studying, S.F.M. in town from Curaco.  Worked wireless little, S.WD. & DI.

Friday, Feb 28
Fair
School -  Home 12:30 P.M.  Worked on E.E. all afternoon.  Study Mech. Eve. Up to N. Sch.  Took G. to movies.  Home 10:30 P.M. *

Saturday, March 1
School -
Down town with Dell - Home 5:00. Up to Christensen's with G. Howard there.  Had good time.  Home 12:30 P.M. *

Home afternoon studying. Over G. afterwards.  home 6P.M.  Study till 10 P.M. feeling punk.  Don't seem to know why.

School 10 A.M. Home 1 P.M. Slept very little afternoon, Study. Calc & E.E. Eve.  G. over few min. quit 11 P.M.
Saw Dell.  Feeling rather bad but better after supper.

Tuesday, Feb 18
Fair agn.
School.  Took walk down to Canal with Baer. [He doubtless means the Lake Washington Ship Canal that was being built to provide a waterway between Lake Washington and Puget Sound. What an exciting project for a young engineer-in-the-making to see first-hand.]


















Exp. Eng. Home abt. 3:30 P.M. Loafed around.  Study eve. till 10 P.M. Not much doing.  Craft called up. Wireless a little.  Kane here.

School - Home - 6P.M.  Little Study.  Kraft up here got Wave Meter.  Turn in 10 P.M. Feeling rather bum.

Fine
School - Home 6 P.M.  Study till 10 P.M. turned in then.  Not feeling very good.

School  - Home 1 P.M.  Out to Lake about Canoe also at Garage abt battery.  Over at Cadillac place. fixed Aerial.  Turned in 8 P.M.  Not feeling very good.

Home from school.  Washington's Birthday.  Worked on E.E. lab work.  G. Home too.  Helped write up notes.  Out to Empress eve had good time.

Sunday School wi G.  Took walk to Shelby and back.  Studied afternoon.  G. typewrote E.E.1 for me. Eve. went to movies home abt 10:30.  Studied Mechanics till 11:45  Turn abt. 1 A.M.
Irene Richardson [may be the Irene Richardson buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Seattle. b. Nov. 5, 1898 d. Apr. 15, 1970]  over with G.

Monday, Feb 10

School Morning.  Home 1 P.M.  Study.  Sleep  Study.  Not much doing.  Turn in abt 10 P.M.

Tuesday, Feb 11
               Fine still.
School - Exp Lab.  Home 3:45 P.M.   Study afternoon and eve.  Quit abt 8:45  Turn in early.

Wednesday, Feb 12
               Fine
School - Mechanics hard work.  Home eve.  Huey called up.  Studying hard till 10:40 P.M.  Not much doing.  Turn in abt 11: P.M.

Thursday, Feb 13
Rain
School till 6 P.M.  Worked Mechanics.  Home Studying eve.  G.M. over typewrote Exp. for me.  Made drawings of boilers.  Turned in 10 P.M.

Friday, Feb 14
Fair
School  -  Home 1:20 P.M.  Loafed afternoon.  Up to Fusser's with G.  Had good time   *   Dell up there too.*  Home 12:40 A.M.  Valentine's Day.  Got hair cut.

School  -  Down Town got typewriter ribbon.  Home 2 P.M.  Had 2 hr. sleep.  Over to G. then to movies.  Home.  11 P.M.

Sunday School - Home wi G.M. Kane here, down town with him.  Bowling.  [Yes, it says 'bowling. Would like to know the history of bowling in Seattle. Unlikely that is was lawn bowling, in February.]  at Gerald's for dinner.  Home abt 3:30 P.M. Over at G.M.  Show - movies. Home again. 9:15 P.M.

Monday, Feb 3
Rain
No school.  Down Town with Amory  Got a pair of shoes.  Home afternoon sleeping. Up to club eve   [probably Wireless Club]. Home 10:20.  Worked wireless a while.  Turn in 12 P.M.

Tuesday, Feb 4
Snow
School - Snow - Rain.  Home afternoon.  Drove for Dow eve 7:1:00  In meantime 9:10:30 took G.M. to show.  HOme 1 A.M.  Turn in 1:30 A.M. Bought Books at school. Some snow pretty sloppy.  Should get $2.00 fm. Dow.  Got $6.00 fm. mama.

Wednesday, Feb 5
School         Fair
Mechanics Lab first time.  Home 6 P.M.  Down Town after Coat at Singerman's  [The second location of Singerman and Sons was at 2nd Avenue and Seneca Street; in 1913, due to demand, Singerman added another store on the first floor at 3rd Avenue and Pike Street.] Bought Books at "U."  [The book store was on Campus at this time, not on the Ave until 1924. The book store was moved to The Ave following a campus building fire and the closing of a pool hall on University Way, which freed up the space it currently occupies.]  G.M. over short time also after Nite Schule.  Studied Calc till 11 P.M.

Thursday, Feb 6
Fine, Sun. Cool
School - Mech. etc.  Home 6 P.M.   Dell came up with Gas Eng. Book.  Played Piano a little, over G.M. few min to get Dell's music.  Study.  Turn in 10 P.M.

Friday, Feb 7
Cool               -Fine-
School.
Down Town afternoon Home 2 P.M. Drove for Mrs. Dow.  Home agn 6:00  Got 3.50, for driving.  Home eve.  Came on same car (streetcar) with G.M.  Turn in abt 9 P.M.

Saturday, Feb 8
         -Skookum.  [Skookum may mean, in this context, a 'good' or 'fair' day, 'best.']
School  - E.E.1. lab.  Home 1 P.M.  Worked on Theme E.E.1  G.M. over, out for walk Down to Empress. Eve Home abt 11:30 P.M. Turn in then.

Sunday School.  Home afternoon reading "Kelly's."  Over at G.M. Down at Empress and Bower's. Home 11:15 P.M.  Had good time allright.

Monday, Jan 27
Fair
School took Oral exam in Elec. Meas.  Also in Polycon.  Home abt. 3 P.M. took afternoon nap eyes bothering on account  0f  drawing last plate in Machine design. Study for chem exam turn in 9: P.M.

Tuesday, Jan 28
School - Took Chem 12 Exam.  Home afternoon after going to Library.  Cleaned up wireless room.  Up to show Amateur Night wi G.M. pretty good show. Home 11 P.M.

Wednesday, Jan 29
Home all day.  Worked around house.  Lieben & Huestis down.  Went down town.  Had treat at Bartell's.  Home eve working wireless. G.M. over min. abt Lieben. Turn in abt 10: P.M. Mrs. Dow called up abt. driving. 

Thursday, Jan 30
Vacation days.
Up to Garage for Mrs. Dow.  Didn't get car. in shop. Home with wireless. Ryan down got wavemeter.  Turn in Abt 9 P.M.

Friday, Jan 31
School -  Took exam in Calc. didn't do very good.  Home afternoon, Played piano for awhile.  At Yama Yama Dance wi G.M.    Lieben, Starkey, Farmer there, had good time. Home abt 12:30 A.M.

At Sunday School.  Both ways wi G.M. Home short time, then out for walk wi G.M.  Home agn. and Huey down.  Went down town took in circuit [Might be the Orpheum Vaudeville Circuit] and Bower's [Might be the Beach and Bowers Minstrels].


Home 9 P.M. Turned in right away.

School - Out to wireless club meeting at S.W.B.  Was over to G.M. down to Ellingwood's and up to night school.  Down to F.G.'s first.  Home 1 A.M.

Tuesday, Jan 21 
School -
Read Polycon all afternoon.  Brooks Social Unrest [See January 14].  Home evening turned in abt 10: P.M. Huey called up.

Wednesday, Jan 22
Fair
School -
Home afternoon put up one wire aerial. Went to Loui's wedding.  Home 9:15 Over to G.M. few min.

Machine Design.
Out at Good Roads Bldg [The Good Roads Building was from the 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Expo then served as the University of Washington Forestry Hall and the ROTC building before it was demolished in 1961],
Heard Crawford [M.T. Crawford?]  talk on high tension transmission. home 10:30. A.I.E.E.  [American Institute of Electrical Engineers]

School - Registered for next semester.  Home evening. Study Polycon, wrote up 2 E.M. exp. Turned in about 9:30 P.M.

Tuesday, Jan 14
Fair
School - Polycon read at library. Brook's S. Unrest. [probably The Social Unrest: Studies in Labor and Socialist Movements by John Graham Brooks, first published in 1903.]
Home about 3:30 P.M.  Worked on E.M. Studied Calc till 11 P.M.

Wednesday, Jan 15
School.
Got out of E.M. lab. Home early.  Wrote up experiment.  Went up to night school wi G.M. also to Garage abt. battery.  Study Calc. till 10:45 P.M.

Thursday, Jan 16
Rain
School - Down town 11-2. Saw Huey On Hyades.   [Probably the Steamer Hyades which would be going from Puget Sound to the Hawaiian Islands In January of 1913. Huey is a friend.  I don't think Huey was going to Hawaii but maybe as far as Tacoma?]
At Bank.  Over at G.M. Eve. Miller Bro. & Sister there. Home 11:30 P.M.  Rice called up about wireless law.

Down to Melbourne with Mama.


[The Melbourne Theatre was on 2nd Avenue in downtown Seattle. I believe they had a 2/8 Kimball theatre organ installed in 1913.]

Saw Cleopatra [probably "Cleopatra," the silent film created in 1912 by the Helen Gardner Picture Players. Gardner stars in the title role, which in a series of elaborately staged tableaux, it depicts Cleopatra's  love affairs, first with handsome fisherman-slave Pharon, then Marc Antony.  The film features lavish sets and costumes, and tinting in various hues. At just over an hour, it was considered fairly lengthy.] 
Worked wireless a little with S.F.G.

Home Morning Down Town with Dell afternoon. On board Northwestern. At Cooper's Office.  At movies wi. G.M. Home 11:30 P.M. 
Bought Aloha [Might be sheet music Aloha Oe Lilivokalani, H M Queen, published in 1913.]  Borrowed some from Dell.
